CO2 compressor / 25 bar g (362.5 psi) – 200 Nm3h

Today’s topic is Compressor selection and I’m going to talk about CO2 and CO2 compressors.

Watch that video till the end and you will find the best solution for pure CO2 (99.99%), 25 bar g (362.5 psi) and 200 Nm3/h.

Couple days ago I got request:

Hi Konstantin

Our company produces Dry Ice and also we fill gas tanks with CO2 for our customers. 

We need CO2 compressor, purity is 99.99%.

Gas source is 0.3 bar g, we need 25 bar g outlet pressure.

Capacity is 200 Nm3/h.

Please recommend compressor for our task.

CO2 gas tanks:

It’s good and absolutely standard request. I would like to recommend oil-free piston compressor. 

I think, it will be the best choice.

Firstly – it’s because of oil free.

Secondly – we can provide 25 bar outlet.

I don’t remember if screw compressors are available for these pressures and capacity. And I am not sure, that you can find oil-free solution.

Oil lubricated compressor is not good idea because of oil.

Diaphragm compressor is not good solution too because of combination of high capacity and low inlet/outlet pressures.

So, from my point of view, oil-free piston compressor is the best choice.

There are some manufacturers in Europe, in the USA and in China. And you can try to find solution by yourself. Or if you want you can send request to me and I will help you with compressor selection absolutely for free.
